1. The face without make-up. Prepare the face for makeup application with a moisturizer, eye cream and lip conditioner.
2. A generic make-up base. Find the dark areas (usually the meeting point of the eyes and nose, sides of nostrils and the crease of the chin) and apply lighter color foundation or concealer to bring those areas out of shadow. Apply your selected foundation and blend well.
To create a narrowing effect use a blusher brush to apply a darker shade bronzer, blush or a darker foundation around the hair line and jaw line, blending inwards first then blending farther into the cheeks in a sweeping motion under the cheek bones.
3. Brush eyebrows upwards and apply a matching colour eye shadow or eyebrow pencil to cover any gaps and create an even full looking eyebrow.
Curl lashes and apply mascara, coating the lashes from the base of the lash line to the tips and separating them to a fan shape (as opposed to brushing them all to the side).
For a smoky eye use three shades - dark, medium and light.
Apply a dark bronze cream eye shadow from the base of the lash line, blending upwards to create a half moon shape coming up to the crease. Using a firm brush apply a medium bronze/copper eye shadow midway and blend into the crease. Finish by using a natural skin color eye shadow to blend from the crease into the brow bone.
Repeat under the bottom lash line and press a dark shadow into the rim for a defined but more natural smoky eye. Eye shadow on the rim as opposed to pencil will last longer and won’t smudge under the eye.
4. Use blush sparingly to create a hint of colour. On a round face apply blush to the center apple of the cheek closer to the nose to achieve a healthy youthful look, or to the lower part of the apple to create a more structured defined look.
Apply a light lipstick in peach/pink and wipe access product for a natural lip texture.
