Who wears Mala Brajkovic?
Women who love to look hot in an interesting way.
You've said in the past that you've always wanted return to London and at maybe show at London Fashion Week. Is that still the plan?
It's definitely something I'd like to do. I'm having a baby at the end of the year so I've pretty much decided not to make too many plans anymore and just see what happens.
How do you react when you hear about someone like Juliet Lewis or Mischa Barton buying your clothes?
It's exciting, particularly someone like Juliet Lewis who has great style and who I admire as an actress.
I've still got a hoodie from your 'How's Tricks?' collection because I thought it looked pretty cool on me. Have you thought about menswear by any chance?
Menswear is a hard one. I'm happy sticking to doing some t-shirts and hoodies. Guys don't shop nearly as much
as girls!
I notice there’s a strong 80’s silhouette that runs throughout your aesthetic, quite an endearing and nostalgic quality for most. Are your designs a reflection of your preference for that particular era and your childhood?
Yeah totally. The early 80’s was when I really started to get into clothes. My mum was always buying lovely stuff for me and I remember my favourite pieces perfectly. Little turquoise kid leather ankle boots that laced up from the top to the toe, a yellow tube skirt with an oversized yellow sweater with blue spots to go with it, red chinese silk slippers with dragons heads at the toes with little bells that hung off the noses. Mum really started something! It was such a fun era for clothes with print and colour and silhouette. I always find a little something form the 80’s to inspire me when I'm designing.
